Alfredo Corvino Scholarship Fund Benefit Performance

New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble provides tuition-based scholarships in the name of NJDTE’s founding Artistic Director Alfredo Corvino. These scholarships are both a source of financial assistance and a special recognition of the talent, excellence and commitment, evident in the aspiring dancers who receive the scholarship. NJDTE annually hosts a benefit performance event to raise funds to provide vital assistance so that NJDTE in support of talented dance artists.
NJDTE Scholarship Recipients
Darwin Black
First recipient of Alfredo Corvino Scholarship Fund. Received fellowship to the Ailey School and dance professionally with Sacramento Ballet, TU Dance, Oakland Ballet and choreographs for professional companies in the United States.

Samuel Asher Kunzman
Graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program. Professional dancer with the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and Big Muddy Dance Company. Was commissioned by NJDTE to create two new works.

Conner Bormann
Received a BFA from Juilliard School. Performed with Brice Mousette, Loni Landon, and is currently performing with Saarländisches Staatstheatre in Germany.

Zachary Downer
Graduated from the Rock School for Dance. Awarded first place in the contemporary division of the Youth American Grand Prix. Performed with Disney Cruise Lines, Broadway Musical Cats, and is currently performing in Hello Dolly on Broadway.
